Aerospace & Defense

Demanding complex design challenges are commonly found in Aerospace and Defense applications. Companies need to ensure that they remain competitive but also deliver quality products, on time, trouble-free and within budget to meet the complex challenges within the mission critical, safety, security and certification requirements that must be met, Aerospace and defense programs are rapidly adopting the OMG SysML™ and UML based Model-Driven Development (MDD) for systems and software engineering.

Furthermore, specifying complex Architecture Framework products, DoDAF, MoDAF and its variants are used, with all these approaches enabling engineers to graphically model their system or application to aide in communication, linking in requirements to ensure traceability, simulate the model to catch defects early and then automatically generate documentation, code and test vectors to automate their process. Collaboration management solutions are being used to manage the process and ensure effective communication between design teams and across company boundaries and time zones.

Aerospace Solutions: Reducing DO-178B Development Costs By 30-50% through Automation

DO-178B has become the de-facto standard for everything that flies, from commercial aircraft, military aircraft, UAV’s, foreign aircraft, to certain ground-based systems. Reasons for the widespread adoption of the standard are numerous.

We will explore the value and benefits found from Model-driven development (MDD) and how the MDD environment and good processes can shorten the overall development cycle while improving product quality in this view on-demand webcast.

Whitepaper: DoDAF Architectures in UML and Rhapsody

The DODAF standard defines a number of work products, some of which are identified as required for a system to be compliant, others are identified as supporting and are recommended but not required. The 1997 C4ISR standard came out at about the same time as the UML standard and therefore doesn’t take advantage of the rich semantics and clear notation provided by the UML.

Datasheet: Telelogic Rhapsody DoDAF Pack

The Rhapsody DoDAF Pack is the industry’s only comprehensive DoDAF solution to provide an advanced modeling environment that supports the design, construction, and analysis of DoDAF-compliant architectures.

Success Story: Valtech India

In June 2005, Valtech implemented Rhapsody in its global development center in Bangalore, India, requiring only minimal assistance from Telelogic Support Services. Developers got up to speed quickly and immediately improved communication among multiple teams.
